Our Customers Have Great Taste…Why Not Join Them
Over the years we have won many awards at various bakery competitions throughout the UK, culminating in winning the Western Region Baker of the year for 3 consecutive years.
This competition was entered by many bakeries from Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.
Our award winning Saffron Cake is definitely our best selling product. The exquisite flavour and golden colour of Cornish saffron cake comes from the heart of the purple crocus flower (crocus sativus).
These tiny stamens were discovered by the phoenicians to contain unparalleled qualities, and when they visited Cornwall hundreds of years ago, they offered their precious treasure for trade.
The Cornish have always had a high regard for fine and wholesome foods, so they baked a special cake, rich in the gifts they had gathered from far off lands and blended them to create the Cornish saffron cake.
It is eaten today plain or with butter or cream, toasted or fresh, as a perfect accompaniment for tea or cider. It is eaten today all over Cornwall, all year round, as part of a proud tradition that includes the sea, the natural beauty and the sunshine!
We pack our pasties with the very best ingredients, all as locally sourced as supplies can cater us.

Eccles cakes are named after the English town of Eccles. It is not known who invented the recipe, but James Birch is credited with being the first person to sell Eccles cakes on a commercial basis.
Our Eccles Cakes are another of our popular lines that will make you want to come back for more.
These are made from a recipe given to my grandfather, Ken, in the 1940’s, containing butter, currants and a delicate blend of spices in our own flakey puff pastry. I doubt if you will find better in the whole of the UK!
